„Behold, I make all things new!” (Rev 21:5). This is the motto of the World Children's Day announced by Pope Francis, which will be held for the first time in Rome on 25-26/05/2024. This year's children's day event and the diocesan drawing competition of the Diocese of Debrecen-Nyíregyháza join the message of the World Day with the motto „Behold, I make all things new!” (Rev 21:5).

The organisers of the popular diocesan programmes are once again awaiting children this year to join the children of the world in spirit, proclaiming and making present the Kingdom of God. Bishop Ferenc Palánki referred to last year's Diocesan Children's Day, attended by nearly 1,000 people, as "a little heaven", for "to such belongs the kingdom of heaven" (Mt 19:14).
Last year's Diocesan Drawing Competition also opened many hearts; 430 entries were received, meaning that many families participated and delved into the message of the competition.
Submission deadline for entries to the diocesan drawing competition: 11/05/2024.
The heart and eyes of a child immediately perceive God in life, in the family, in the Church, and in the world: His beauty, His almighty power, His recreative love. The organisers expect these moments to be captured in this year's drawing competition (details on the poster).
The Diocesan Children's Day will traditionally be held in the hilly, wooded, and park-like area of Nagykálló-Harangod on 11/05/2024 from 09:00 to 16:00. Registration is open with parish priests or catechists. Further information can be requested from chief organiser György Kardos: kardosgy.61@gmail.com
