Our Lady of Hungary

The Our Lady of Hungarians Roman Catholic Parish of Nyíregyháza is organising a summer camp for children aged 3rd to 8th grade who attend Roman Catholic religious education classes.

Camp dates: 30/06/2025 – 05/07/2025 (6 days, 5 nights)
Camp location: Saint Adalbert Pilgrim Hostel, Esztergom, Szent István Square 10.
Age group: Children from 3rd to 8th grade.
Catering: Three meals a day. (Communal meals start with dinner on Monday and end with breakfast on Saturday)
Travel: By train from Nyíregyháza – Budapest Nyugati Railway Station – Esztergom. We plan to transport larger bags separately by minibus.
Camp programme: Visit to Esztergom Basilica, Royal Castle, Christian Museum, Danube Museum, Palaeontology and Mineral Exhibition, city game, boat trip, adventure pool, many games, hiking, spiritual programmes: communal morning and evening prayers, Holy Mass.
At the camp, our parish's catechists, a seminarian from Nyíregyháza, a cantor, and an ordained priest will be working with the children.
Participation fee: 60,000 Ft per person, which includes the costs of travel, accommodation, three meals a day, and entrance tickets.

For travel by public transport, we ask every participating child to purchase a national pass, which is valid between 30/06 and 05/07!

The total cost of the camp is 120,000 Ft per person. As this would be a significant burden for families, with parish and diocesan support, we will cover part of the costs.

Application deadline: 15/06/2025.
How to apply: By registration and followed by the payment of a 20,000 Ft deposit.
The deposit can be paid to György Kardos, the organiser, on Fridays between 14:00 and 18:00 at the parish office (Kossuth Square 4.) or at another time arranged by phone.
