Bishop Ferenc Palánki of Debrecen-Nyíregyháza has ordered the following personnel and territorial changes in the Diocese of Debrecen-Nyíregyháza, effective from 01/08/2024.

Curate transfers and school chaplain appointments:

Péter Máté – with an expression of gratitude – was relieved of his duties as assistant priest at the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles, Kisvárda, and appointed as curate to the Our Lady of Hungary Archparish, Nyíregyháza, and as chaplain of the St. Imre Catholic High School, Bilingual Primary School, College, Kindergarten, and Basic Art School in Nyíregyháza, as well as the University of Nyíregyháza.

Ervin Mike – with an expression of gratitude – was relieved of his duties as assistant priest and university assistant priest at St. Anne's Cathedral, Debrecen, and appointed as curate to the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles, Kisvárda.

József Kálmán – with an expression of gratitude and confirmed in his role as youth chaplain – was appointed chaplain of the St. Joseph Kindergarten, Primary School, High School, and College.

Auxiliary priest relief and appointment:

László Vadászi – with an expression of gratitude – was relieved of his duties as auxiliary priest at St. Anne's Archparish, Debrecen, and will return to the Archdiocese of Eger.

Pietro Trevisan – with the consent of Dr. Csaba Ternyák, Archbishop of Eger – was appointed auxiliary priest to St. Anne's Archparish, Debrecen.

Parochial administrator reliefs and parish priest appointment:

József Lengyel, parish priest – with an expression of gratitude – was relieved of his duties as parochial administrator at the Assumption of Our Lady Parish, Kállósemjén.

Csaba Nagy, parochial administrator and chaplain of the St. Imre Catholic High School, Bilingual Primary School, College, Kindergarten, and Basic Art School in Nyíregyháza, as well as the University of Nyíregyháza – with an expression of gratitude and confirmed in his appointment as family referent – was relieved of his previous duties and appointed as parish priest to the Assumption of Our Lady Parish, Gávavencsellő.

Parish priest reliefs and appointments:

Richárd Ferenczi, parish priest – with an expression of gratitude – was relieved of his previous duties at the Assumption of Our Lady Parish, Gávavencsellő, and appointed as parish priest to the St. George the Martyr Parish, Nyíradony.

Zsolt Mészáros, parochial administrator at the Our Lady of Hungary Parish, Dombrád, was appointed parish priest of the aforementioned parish.

László Papp, parish priest – with an expression of gratitude – was relieved of his previous duties at the St. Stephen King Parish, Debrecen, and at the St. Joseph Kindergarten, Primary School, High School, and College, and appointed as parish priest to the Assumption of Our Lady Parish, Polgár.

László Tamaskovits, parish priest – with an expression of gratitude – was relieved of his previous duties at the St. George the Martyr Parish, Nyíradony, and appointed as parish priest to the Assumption of Our Lady Parish, Kállósemjén.

Attached pastoral care of parishes:

Gábor Földes, parish priest – with an expression of gratitude – was relieved of the attached pastoral care of the Assumption of Our Lady Parish, Polgár.

Gábor Csordás, parish priest, was entrusted with the attached pastoral care of the St. Imre Parish, Nyíregyháza-Jósaváros.

Dr. Zoltán Krakomperger, parish priest, was entrusted with the attached pastoral care of the St. Stephen King Parish, Debrecen.

Abolition of a Deanery:

The Polgár Deanery, comprising the parishes of Egyek, Polgár, Rakamaz, and Tiszavasvári – with an expression of my gratitude to Dean László Maga – will be abolished effective from 31/07/2024, and, effective from 01/08/2024, its parishes of Egyek and Polgár will be annexed to the Debrecen Deanery, while Rakamaz and Tiszavasvári will be annexed to the Nyíregyháza Deanery.
