This year, the Diocese of Debrecen-Nyíregyháza will hold its usual pilgrimage feast on Sunday, 28/07/2024, at our National Shrine in Máriapócs. The festive Holy Mass will begin at 11:00, with Bishop JENŐ SCHÖNBERGER of Szatmár as the principal celebrant and preacher.
Bishop Ferenc Palánki of Debrecen-Nyíregyháza invites the clergy and faithful of the diocese to give thanks together for our community, for the Diocese of Debrecen-Nyíregyháza. We ask for the help and intercession of the Blessed Mother, so that we may continue to carry our diocese in our hearts with love.
The pilgrimage will conclude at 14:00 with a litany. During the feast, we will also have the opportunity for silent adoration in the Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception in Máriapócs; continuous adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place from 08:00 to 10:45.
Pilgrimages on foot and by bicycle will set out from several parishes for the feast. Participants of the diocesan youth camp, led by Bishop Ferenc Palánki, will again set off as pilgrims on foot this year from Levelek to Máriapócs on Saturday, 27/07/2024, at 08:00. The Bishop encourages everyone to join this pilgrimage.
According to tradition, on Saturday night, we can participate in an evening of prayer combined with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, together with the youth, in the shrine church.
